‘Avengers: Endgame’s Paul Bettany Confirms Vision’s Comeback To MCU

Paul Bettany, who played Vision in Marvel movies, is coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During a recent panel at MegaCon 2024, Paul Bettany officially announced his return to the MCU.

In response to a fan’s question about the possibility of Vision’s return, Bettany confirmed by saying:

“[After a long pause] Well, yeah… I mean, why wouldn’t I? Yes, 100%.”

Despite the lack of details on specific projects involving Bettany’s return as Vision, his confirmation sparked interest.

Bettany’s discussion at MegaCon 2024 also touched upon playing an android with a soul, comparing Vision’s journey to the narratives of Pinocchio and Frankenstein’s monster.

Paul Bettany’s Career as Vision

Created by Ultron and brought to sentience by Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Thor, Vision is a vibranium-based Synthezoid with powers derived from the Mind Stone. His storyline had themes of existence, morality, and love, resulting in a tragic end during ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ only to be revisited in ‘WandaVision.’

Bettany’s career in the MCU began with voicing the AI J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man films before Vision. His last appearance was in the 2021 Disney+ series ‘WandaVision,‘ where he starred opposite Elizabeth Olsen. Bettany’s portrayal of Vision earned him nominations for both the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.

Rumors have circulated about a potential series titled ‘Vision Quest,‘ although Marvel Studios has yet to make an official announcement. Bettany, on the other hand, has roles in upcoming movies such as ‘The Collaboration,‘ ‘Harvest Moon,‘ and ‘Here.
