The actress and writer Ayo Edebiri, known for ‘Sunnyside’ and ‘Shithouse’ is officially new ‘Missy Foreman-Greenwald’ of Netflix animated series, ‘Big Mouth.’
As known actress Jenny Slate, who voiced ‘Missy’ since the first season of the series, stepped away from her role to make way for more racially appropriate casting.
Edebiri confirmed the news regarding replacing Slate through an Instagram post. She posted a Variety screenshot, and shared in the caption that:
“Ok this variety screenshot is actually real. Very excited for this!!!! ❤️ @bigmouthnetflix”
Besides, the co-creator of the series, Nick Kroll released a congratulation message alongside a photo of Edebiri, on Instagram:
“Congrats to @ayoedebiri on winning the part of Missy on @bigmouthnetflix after an exhaustive auditioning process! Ayo is already a part of the Big Mouth family as a writer on the show, and was a tremendous addition to the team from day one.”
After expressing his excitement, Kroll also praised her stand-up show and sense of humor:
“I first saw her do standup a couple of years ago and was blown away. I’ve also seen firsthand how deeply connected she is to Missy. I know she will take the baton from Jenny while making it very much her own as we continue to tell Missy’s ever-evolving story.”
