Harry Johnson, known for his work as a character and voice actor, has passed away at the age of 81.
The actor lost his life on January 2, 2024, in Los Angeles, California, following an undisclosed ‘long illness,’ as Christiane, his wife of fifteen years, confirmed to Deadline.
Best-known for his roles in ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ ‘Law & Order,’ and ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer,’ Johson appeared in more than 2,000 TV episodes both through his voice and in person.
Johnson’s Long Career
The late actor started his acting career in 1978, landing a part in the pilot episode of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ as the First Warrior. Soon after, he became a contract player with Universal Studios, appearing in a variety of their productions.
Over his forty-year career, Johnson appeared in many TV shows, including ‘M*A*S*H,’ ‘Dynasty,’ ‘The A-Time,’ ‘Cold Case,’ and ‘Melrose Place.’ He also did voice-over work for several Dick Wolf projects as well as the ‘Law & Order’ and ‘Chicago’ series.
One of his notable roles was in the ‘Harry & Louise’ television advertising campaign, which ran from 1993 to 1994 and focused on President Bill Clinton’s health care plan.
The actor’s career also included roles in movies such as ‘Warlock,’ ‘The Glass House,’ and ‘The Spitfire Grill.’ His last acting job was in the TV series ‘Heartland’ in 2007, where he played Warden Victor.
