Benedict Cumberbatch Has A Disappointing Update About ‘Doctor Strange 3’

He says that there is no clear plan for the third film at the moment.

Benedict Cumberbatch recently shared some news that may disappoint fans hoping for ‘Doctor Strange 3.’

Cumberbatch suggests that the third ‘Doctor Strange’ movie is not a priority for Marvel Studios right now. When ThePlaylist asked him about the movie, he simply said:

“Who knows!”

He also said he doesn’t know much about his role in the next Avengers movie:

“We will see. We will find out. I’m not sure where he’s been and what he’s been up to and who with, but yeah, I know as little as you.”

He’s Not Sure About Strange’s Future

This isn’t the first time Cumberbatch shared uncertain news about ‘Doctor Strange 3.’ He spoke to The New Indian Express in 2022 and said he ‘hopes’ the story will continue:

“I hope so. I would love to do another one. Doctor Strange is such a complex character and it feels like there is so much more to explore with him. He is such a brilliant character and I’m still having a wild time playing him.”

Marvel Studios decided to make fewer movies and focus more on quality. This means ‘Doctor Strange 3’ might not happen soon. We may learn more about Cumberbatch’s next appearance in the MCU and the chances of ‘Doctor Strange 3’ at the D23 event in August.

You can watch ‘Doctor Strange’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ on Disney+.
