Billie Eilish Is Rumored To Join The Cast Of ‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’ For Season 2

After the cliffhanger ending of Season 1, the Prime Video series appears to be on the lookout for new lead actors.

Reports claim that Amazon MGM Studios is currently seeking to cast an actor and actress in their 20s for the roles of John and Jane Smith in the upcoming second season of ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith.’ The studio is planning to sign the actors for one-year contracts.

Rumors about potential candidates for the roles started swirling around. Deadline recently wrote that Billie Eilish was one of the names often coming up. The Oscar-winning singer made her acting debut in Donald Glover’s ‘Swarm.’

Glover teamed up with Francesca Sloane to create this new version of ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ based on the 2005 original starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. He also starred opposite Maya Erskine in Season 1.

The first season concluded with a gunfight, leaving viewers unsure whether John and Jane Smith survived. Sloane as well as the production team avoided confirming Glover and Erskine’s possible return in Season 2.

The co-creator told Deadline in August, “If we tell you too much, you’ll know early if they survived.” During the same interview, she also noted that they could ‘maybe’ take on the anthology route with a new pair of actors each season as rumored.

‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ followed two spies paired as a married couple, taking on new aliases, John and Jane Smith.
