‘Black Panther’ Director In Talks To Direct New X-Men Film

Rumors suggest that Ryan Coogler will direct the new X-Men movie.

‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler is rumored to be in talks with Marvel to direct the new live-action X-Men film.

Reports suggest that Coogler will return to direct ‘Black Panther 3,’ and Marvel is considering him to direct their upcoming X-Men reboot. Black Panther News announced the news on Twitter, writing:

“Marvel Studios reportedly wants Ryan Coogler to direct their upcoming ‘X-Men film. Ryan Coogler has also officially signed on for ‘Black Panther 3.”

Disney bought Fox Studios in 2019, and this allows Marvel to include the X-Men in their cinematic universe. The X-Men characters will make their first MCU appearance in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’

Fans Support This Decision

Coogler’s ‘Black Panther’ was the first MCU movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars and won awards for Best Original Score, Costume Design, and Production Design. He also directed ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and won another Oscar for Best Costume Design. He received praise for how the film handled Chadwick Boseman’s absence.

Some fans want ‘X-Men ’97’ writer Beau DeMayo to handle the live-action reboot, but many are excited about Coogler’s potential involvement. They even claim he made Wakanda look more impressive than Star Wars:

“People undermine how truly gifted he is in world-building. He made Wakanda look more impressive than the world in Star Wars. He would absolutely crush being the X-Men director.”

The X-Men series always included important social themes, and Coogler is known for addressing real-world issues in his films. Fans believe that Coogler’s experience with these themes makes him a good fit to direct the X-Men movie.
