Letitia Wright hasn’t reprised her role as Shuri since 2022’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ But the actress’ comeback might be on the horizon, according to her recent interview with The View:
“There are a lot of things coming up.”
Rumors say that Shuri could be one of the 60 Marvel characters expected to return in ‘Avengers 5,’ though Wright is tight-lipped on the matter:
“If it’s, uh, let’s just say, let’s just say… I would like to continue with Shuri. She’s one of my favorite characters, such a blessing, honestly, I kid you not. I’m so grateful for her.”
When Will Shuri Come Back?
Marvel’s upcoming animated show, ‘Eyes of Wakanda,’ may possibly feature Shuri in a mission to retrieve a dangerous vibranium artifact. The Disney+ series is set for release later this year with no details about the cast and plot at the moment.
There’s also a chance that the Wakandan princess will come back in ‘Black Panther 3,’ but plans for the project are yet to be announced. Producer Nate Moore said about another sequel in 2022:
“We really want to see how audiences receive the film, and, I think Ryan [Coogler]’s really interested to see how the film plays before we decide. There are certainly ideas we’ve floated around of what a third film could be if we get to make it. But until the movie comes out, we’re a bit superstitious in that way. We don’t want to count our chickens, because you never know what’s going to happen.”
‘Wakanda Forever’ earned $859.2 million at the box office upon its release. It also received generally good reviews as well as several awards including an Oscar.
