‘Bluey Day’ Event Turns Out To Be An Epic Fail: ‘Kids Were Crying’

The ‘Bluey Day’ event in Las Vegas ended in disappointment as kids cried over a poorly executed meet-and-greet.

A ‘Bluey Day’ event in Las Vegas ended in disappointment and tears.

As per FOX5 Las Vegas, the event was held at the restaurant Dirt Dog. It was supposed to feature a special meet-and-greet with Bluey. The event was also advertised to include a Bluey episodes marathon, face painting, games, and special Bluey-themed treats.

Parents and children left the event feeling let down. Children were greeted by a restaurant employee dressed in a Bluey onesie instead of a professional Bluey character. Many of them cried and felt upset. Stephanie Hernandez, a mother who attended the event, said:

“Some kids were crying. Some kids were upset, crying on their parents’ shoulders. How could you do that to little kids: advertise something so fun and eventful for kids ranging from toddlers to six and seven years old, and not actually follow through with it? It was a very upsetting moment to see so many kids, especially my daughter, just really upset.”

You can see photos from the event below.

The Restaurant Issued An Apology

Dirt Dog posted an apology on social media after the backlash and promised to improve their future events. Taj Wilder, a marketing spokesperson for Dirt Dog, told Fox5:

“We expected like maybe 50 to 60 people – not in the sense of like the whole city coming out. Just now knowing who Bluey is, we would have planned ahead and would have had security.”

Dirt Dog wrote the following in their apology:

“We are truly sorry this event wasn’t to standard. We will work on improving all of our events going forward so we can bring you the highest quality as you all deserve. We appreciate everyone taking the time to send us your feedback.”

Bluey is available for streaming on Disney+.
