Well-known interior designer and reality television personality Bobby Berk jumped into his social media account after the Asian hate acts arose in the United States and expressed how much he is proud of himself for having an Asian American husband.
Berk first released a photo of himself with husband Dewey Do and then penned a lengthy caption to stated that he has been deeply saddened with the latest news regarding the hate acts to Asian people in the United States. As known, apart from racist acts towards them, on March 15, six Asian American people were killed in Atlanta spa shootings.
Regarding the issue, the ‘Queer Eye‘ star wrote:
“I am so proud to be the husband of an Asian American and over the past year, I’ve been deeply saddened to see an uptick in violence towards Asian Americans. These senseless acts have occurred across the country, showing that xenophobic views and hurtful words can lead to real consequences.”
Stating that he believes towards one of the members of the society is racism towards all of the society, the reality TV star concluded his words by calling his fans and followers to take action:
“I stand in solidarity with the Asian American community to #STOPASIANHATE. Stop by my link in bio to see how we can all educate ourselves and show support.”
Following the post, the TV star received a great number of solidarity messages. As fans might know, Berk and his maxillofacial surgeon husband Do have been together for more than 15 years.
