Danish-born American actor and director Giancarlo Esposito, who is best known for portraying ‘Gus Fring’ in the ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ attended the Entertainment Weekly’s multi-nominees Emmy roundtable and revealed that he would like to play in a comedic work.
The actor addressed other participants, Maya Rudolph, Dan Levy, and Wanda Sykes, who are in a comedy, and said that he was envy of them:
“I’m so jealous of all of you who are in comedy, because that’s where I’d like to go, and experience that feeling. Because in off-hours, truth be told, I’m lighter than people know me as… I’m actually quite fun after 6 p.m.”
The ‘Gospel Hill’ co-star added that he really wished to show truly comedic performance to audiences. He continued:
“We perform because we are enthused by it and get filled up by it, but who wants to do the same thing all the time? I would do anything to be able to experience the true juice of being able to have fun, yet move people, whether it be a comedy, drama, or otherwise.”
Esposito was nominated 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in ‘Better Call Saul.’
