Dan Goor, comedy writer and television producer, delivered the news; ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘ was wrapped on June 11.
On the day, Goor, best known for serving as executive-producer and co-creator of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and working as a director, producer, and writer for ‘Parks and Recreation, took to his verified Twitter account and announced that the cast of the comedy series was together for the last time.
On Twitter, Goor, the writer who also worked for ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien,’ stated that the filming for ‘Brooklyn 99’ came to an end for the eighth season and “forever.” The co-creator of the series wrote by referring to the cast including former member Andy Samberg:
“We just wrapped Brooklyn 99. I want to thank our amazing crew and cast. Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Joel McKinnon Miller, Dirk Blocker, Joe Lo Truglio, Terry Crews, and Chelsea Peretti, thank you. You changed my life.”
As fans might remember, NBC officially announced back in February that season 8 would be the final season. So, this “wrap up” means that the fan-favorite comedy series is saying goodbye to TV.
While Goor releasing the abovementioned shot, actor Melissa Fumero, portraying ‘Amy Santiago‘ in the series, took to her verified Instagram account, released a photo from the set, and added the following message:
“And that’s a wrap of the best 8 years of my life. More stories to come… I can’t wait for you all to see this final season. I am so proud of what we made, and I am so grateful for all the people I got to share it with.”
According to the announcement made by NBC, the eighth season, comprising 10 episodes, will be premiered on August 12, 2021.
