Hollywood actor Busy Philipps, best known for her portrayal of ‘Kim Kelly‘ in the legendary teen comedy series, ‘Freaks and Geeks,’ took to Instagram the other day to reveal a secret regarding her acting career. After releasing a series of BTS photos with her ‘Girls5Eva‘ co-stars, Philipps wrote that her role in this series was a milestone for her career.
The actor, who preferred not to appearing in a series after 2018 dated ‘Camping,’ stated that the idea of portraying ‘Summer‘ changed her mind that quitting acting because she “couldn’t deal with the heartbreak.” According to what she mentioned in her message when she got a call from Tina Fey to join the cast of the said series, she accepted the offer immediately.
“OBVIOUSLY YES. @scardinoandsons wrote a show about women reclaiming their own narrative and defying expectations and finding their own truest selves and it’s all wrapped up in a bonkers comedy with music and dancing about former pop ‘stars’.”
Stating that the 8-episode series completed under the COVID-19 precautions and shorter work hours, Phillipps also wrote that their crew was incredible and positive, and respectful of the protocols.
Following thanking her cast and crew, she strongly recommended her fans and followers to see the series by saying that in case half of the joy that they had making it translates to screens, they would be obsessed with the series.
“We are ALL in a very strange time in our lives. So all I have to say is that I’m eternally grateful to have been able to have had this JOY with these incredible people making this insanity called Girls5eva in this- the strangest time.“
At the end of her message, the actor referred to her fear of “heartbreak” and concluded her post with the following words:
“I will honestly say, for the first time ever, that the heartbreak will have been worth it for the experience.”
The series, which changed Phillips’ fate, will premiere on Peacock.
