Daniel Brühl played Zemo in ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ and later returned in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ in a frenemy dynamic with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.
The actor’s time in the MCU might not be completely over as he recently spoke of reprising his role with Screen Rant as follows:
“It’s fine for me, I can wait. [Laughs] I’m a very patient man. No, I’m not, but it’s funny, because in the meantime, I just wrapped on a show that’s called ‘The Franchise,’ where it’s actually a satire about the superhero universe, so it was fun to switch sides, so to say. But knowing Marvel, they have a lot of sense of humor, so they will probably find it as funny as I did. And who knows, I mean, I’m still not dead, I’m very confident that I’ll be back.”
The MCU Is Open For Zemo’s Return
There’s a chance for Zemo to make a comeback in the upcoming ‘Thunderbolts*.’ The villain was the anti-hero team’s leader in the comics although his casting in the film is unconfirmed. He may appear in the live-action film for a cameo as a nod to the comics.
Daniel Brühl can also reprise the role in ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ He can help Sam Wilson against the Leader, Diamondback, and Giancarlo Esposito’s mystery character in the upcoming film like he did in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.’
There’s A New Villain For Captain America
Esposito teased joining the MCU for a few weeks before a photographer recently captured him on the ‘Brave New World’ set. The actor didn’t reveal who he was playing in the film but said the studio was planning to make a show for his character.
He shared at a convention:
“The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict. It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.”
Esposito is currently filming some additional scenes with Anthony Mackie in Grantville, Georgia. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will arrive on February 14, 2025.
