Anthony Mackie says getting to be Captain America sounds fun, but there’s more to it than just the cool parts we see on screen.
Mackie has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for 10 years! He started as Falcon, and now he’s the new Captain America. But even superheroes face challenges. Mackie recently explained to Radio Times that working in the MCU is like playing in a giant, already-painted picture:
“I would say the Marvel thing is completely different, just because it’s such a space of controlled entertainment. Like, there’s only so much you can do. There’s only so much creativity you can bring to the table because Stan Lee gave us so much content.”
Mackie is Sad His Friends Won’t Be in the New Movie
One thing Mackie misses in his new Captain America movie is his buddies, Sebastian Stan and Daniel Brühl. Mackie jokes about how fun it was to get paid to hang out with his friends. But now, with the new movie, they’re not around. This makes him a bit sad.
There is another change in ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ Harrison Ford is stepping in to play Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. This role was previously played by William Hurt. As Mackie said, fans will notice Sebastian Stan’s Bucky won’t be in this new adventure as well.
