Charlie Cox recently teased fans about the fight scenes in the Disney+ series ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’
During a panel at Fan Expo Boston, Cox promised that the action scenes will not disappoint. One of the standout features of the original Daredevil series on Netflix was the intense one-take fight scenes, and Cox confirmed that these will be returning in the new series:
“There’s different types of owners. A oner is a fight scene that takes place in one shot, without [cuts.] So there’s things called a true oner. So a true oner is when it really is one take and there’s no editing, there’s no cuts, there’s no morphing, which is when you move the camera past something that is a solid color, and then you can technically then cut during the black of that. So, if the camera moves past someone’s black shirt, there’s a moment during that where the whole screen is black, and you can then stitch a different take after that. So it looks like it’s a oner, but it’s actually not.”
Some scenes in movies may look like one take but actually have hidden cuts, but Cox assures fans that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will include genuine one-take fight scenes.
Kingpin Considers ‘Born Again’ A Different Show
Vincent D’Onofrio recently noted that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will feel like a new show that is way different from the Netflix version:
“I think it’s definitely a new show. It’s not the Netflix show. It’s definitely a new show. I mean, all I can say is that Charlie and I are not bored. We are having a great time. We have a great cast, and I think everybody else is having a great time too.”
He also teased that Cox is doing a lot of stunts and training for the series.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will continue the story of Matt Murdock as he battles his enemy Wilson Fisk. The show will feature new cast members Michael Gandolfini, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Margarita Levieva. Jon Bernthal will return as Frank Castle, and Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will reprise their roles as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.
Marvel Studios decided to take the show in a new creative direction. As a result, previous head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman left the series. The new direction includes having Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (who directed episodes of Moon Knight and Loki Season 2) direct all remaining episodes of the first season.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025.
