Charlie Cox Reveals Scrapped Plans For ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

We have details about plans to move on from ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and updates on season 2.

The cast of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was at GalaxyCon this weekend. Charlie Cox spoke about the plans for the show, saying:

“Elden wasn’t invited to join the show at first… they had written in a cameo in the first episode to end the link between the shows and give the old fans closure, they scrapped that in the new version.”

The production has faced many changes, but the good news is that Karen Page and Foggy Nelson will be back. The first half of filming happened from March to June 2023 and then from January to April 2024 after some changes were made.

The second half of the series is expected to begin by the end of 2024. The plot of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is still a secret. The Disney+ series will continue stories from ‘Echo’ and Netflix’s ‘Daredevil.’ It will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe project to show Daredevil and Kingpin together on screen.

They appeared in ‘Echo’ but never shared a scene. They were reintroduced in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Hawkeye.’ ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will bring back Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk.

What Did Cox Say About Fighting Scenes?

In June, Cox hinted at exciting fight scenes in ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Speaking at Fan Expo Boston, he assured fans that the action scenes would be impressive. The intense one-take fights from the original Netflix series will return in the new series. He noted:

“There’s different types of owners. A oner is a fight scene that takes place in one shot, without [cuts.] So there’s things called a true oner. So a true oner is when it really is one take and there’s no editing, there’s no cuts, there’s no morphing, which is when you move the camera past something that is a solid color, and then you can technically then cut during the black of that. So, if the camera moves past someone’s black shirt, there’s a moment during that where the whole screen is black, and you can then stitch a different take after that. So it looks like it’s a oner, but it’s actually not.”

New cast members include Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blade, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, and Jeremy Earl as Cole North.
