British actor Charlie Hunnam, best known for portraying ‘Jackson “Jax” Teller‘ in FX’s ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ spoke to PEOPLE exclusively to promote his latest movie ‘Jungleland’ and revealed being the next ‘James Bond’ would be an honor for him, during the interview.
When he was asked what he thinks of playing ‘James Bond‘ in upcoming franchises he said he would one hundred percent take on the role. Then the actor said that he would be so flattered to be considered to portray the legendary character, especially as an English man. However, the actor added that he is not waiting for a call to be invited for the role because he thinks there are many people ahead of him.
Later, Hunnam highlighted that is a desire of fans, so much so that, he has not received an official offer “on a professional level from within the industry” yet. Then the actor continued in a hilarious way:
“But as much as people want to talk about me playing James Bond, please continue. Maybe that’s the genesis of these things. Maybe fan chatter leads to industry people actually talking about it in a more serious way.”
Despite his willingness to take the role, he also showed his support for Tom Hardy, who is unofficially named as the next ‘Bond,’ by saying that he was a huge fan of Hardy’s. According to Hunnam, it would be sensational if Hardy appears as the next one.
