Chris Hemsworth Is Thankful For Being A Part Of A New ‘Mad Max’ Franchise

Chris Hemsworth will star in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ prequel ‘Furiosa’ that will follow a younger version of ‘Imperator Furiosa’ portrayed by Charlize Theron.

The actor, best known for portraying ‘Thor’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, responded to this news through an Instagram post. Hemsworth, who will play alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (‘The Witch’), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (‘Watchmen’), posted a screenshot of news published by Variety, and wrote the note that reads:

“Pretty damn fired up to be a part of a franchise that meant the world to me as a kid growing up in Australia. Mad Max was the pinnacle and a huge reason why I got into the business of telling stories.”

After expressing that his role that was not still unclear meant the world to him, sent his respects to the director, writer & producer George Miller, actors Charlize Theron, and Mel Gibson, who appeared in the original three previous films:

“The fact that I’ll have the honor of not only being directed by its original visionary in George Miller but also take part in Furiosa’s origin story is incredibly exciting Huge respect to George, Mel, Charlize, Tom and all the cast and crew who helped build this epic world. I’ll do my best to continue the tradition of cinematic badassery 🙏👊”

The Australian post-apocalyptic action film, ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ had its world premiere on 7 May 2015, and became the highest-grossing ‘Mad Max’ film. It received 10 Academy Award nominations at the 88th Academy Awards and won 6 awards for Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Film Editing, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing, even though the director and the actors returned home with empty hands.

The release date of the prequel, in which Anya Taylor-Joy would play ‘Furiosa’ has yet been announced.
