Hollywood actor Chris Pratt took to his verified Instagram account with a piece of great news on April 28; the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star unveiled the first look at his upcoming sci-fi epic entitled ‘The Tomorrow War‘ and announced its release date!
Pratt, who also appeared in ‘Avengers‘ sequels, uploaded a series of photos from the film in which he is portraying a teacher recruited to fight against an alien invasion in the future, and wrote that it was set to be released through Amazon Prime Video, on July 2. In order to deliver the news, the well-known actor wrote the following message underneath the photos that sees him an ambitious soldier:
“Just wait until you see what’s coming… @TheTomorrowWar arrives July 2 @AmazonPrimeVideo. My first Executive Producer credit on a feature film! Boy we busted our asses on this movie and I guarantee you have never seen anything like it. It’s so original, scary, moving, funny and visually stunning.”
In his message, as can be seen, Pratt also declared that the film, which is Chris McKay‘s live-action directorial debut, is his first experience as an executive producer. What’s more the actor, playing ‘Dan Forester,’ promised that the film would serve as a new experience for the audiences. He continued his pretentious message as follows:
“And you can let you kids watch it. (PG-13) Get ready for a new favorite movie. There’s a reason Amazon paid a butt load of money to buy this film. The reason is… Jeff Bezos loves aliens. And also, it’s the best movie you’ll see this year. I promise you. Humbly, this is the one.”
As fans might know, the film, starring Yvonne Strahovski, J. K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, and Keith Powers alongside Pratt, was originally scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures through theatres. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, its distribution rights were held by amazon Studios.
