‘Chucky’ Will Return Despite Series Cancellation, Creator Teases

He hinted that fans will see their favorite characters again soon.

The ‘Chucky’ TV series may have been cancelled, but it seems fans can still expect more to come.

‘Chucky’ aired on SYFY and USA Network. It was cancelled a month ago with a big cliffhanger at the end of season 3. Creator Don Mancini recently reassured fans that even though the show is over, the story isn’t.

Mancini took to Twitter recently to calm any worries. In his post, he said, “The ‘Chucky’ franchise has always prioritized story continuity, across different media, for decades. You WILL see your favorites again.”

‘Chucky’ featured the same actors in their roles throughout the years. Brad Dourif voiced Chucky for seven movies and all three seasons of the show. Alex Vincent (Andy Barclay) has been part of the series since the first ‘Child’s Play’ movie in 1988. Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany Valentine) has been around since 1998’s ‘Bride of Chucky.’ Mancini suggests that, like always, the franchise will stick with its tradition of bringing back key characters.

The ‘Chucky’ series ended with Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) in a tough spot. They are turned into dolls using the same voodoo magic as Chucky and Tiffany in the final moments of season 3. The three are trapped in a display case while Chucky and Tiffany are out free. They are seemingly reunited and causing more trouble.

There’s no official news on what comes next for the ‘Chucky’ franchise. Mancini was working on writing a new movie before the show’s cancellation. It’s possible this movie could pick up where the TV series left off, but nothing was confirmed.
