‘Close To Satan In My Book:’ James Gunn’s Thoughts On ‘Lanterns’ Writer Damon Lindelof Goes Viral

Today, Lindelof is part of Gunn’s writing team for the Lanterns TV series. But it seems fans don’t forget what he said about him in the past.

James Gunn’s previous comments about Damon Lindelof resurfaced, and they are going viral.

Gunn once had some overly critical words for Lindelof, the writer now working on the upcoming Lanterns TV series.

James Gunn wrote a Facebook comment in 2012, calling Lindelof ‘close to Satan’ because of how the TV show ‘Lost’ ended. He also said Lindelof was ‘the Uri Gellar of storytellers,’ a ‘total scam artist with no integrity whatsoever,’ and ‘a liar’:

“Lindelof is close to Satan in my book because of the end of ‘Lost.’ He’s the Uri Gellar of storytellers, a total scam artist with no integrity whatsoever. And a liar.”

His recent remarks show Gunn’s opinion changed over the years. However, this didn’t prevent his past remarks from resurfacing.

Gunn Now Praises Lindelof’s Efforts

It’s recently announced that Lindelof, Chris Mundy, and Tom King will be writing the pilot episode and a ‘bible’ for the new ‘Lanterns’ TV series. Gunn welcomed Lindelof and Mundy to the DC Studios family on Instagram and Threads.

Gunn confirmed the team for Lanterns a couple of days ago. He praised the pilot script and the bible created by the trio, writing:

“A hearty welcome to Chris and [Damon Lindelof] as they join the DC Studios family. … The Lanterns DCU series is putting together a crack team of writers, based on a wonderful pilot script and bible by Chris Mundy, Tom King, and David Lindelof.”

The Lanterns TV series will focus on Green Lanterns John Stewart and Hal Jordan. According to Gunn, it will be a terrestrial-based show, so it will mostly take place on Earth.
