‘Clueless’ Star Alicia Silverstone Unveils A Heartfelt Message To Encourage People Keep Moving Despite Painful Challenges

Well-known movie star Alicia Silverstone, best known for her portrayal as ‘Cher Horowitz’ in 1995 ‘Clueless‘ released a hearty message through her verified Instagram account, on December 31.

In the message, which is accompanied by a photo of herself with her son Bear asleep in her arms, she expressed that there are so many things to be grateful for in even grief. Then, by touching on people who passed away due to hunger, she wrote:

“My heart is heavy for the millions who die of hunger a year… every year. That is something few of us can imagine. And this year that number will be staggering. NPR, Mercy Corps, and UNICEF estimate that 9 million people die from hunger each year, and 3 million are children. 😢 Beyond heartbreaking 💔”

Then the star, who lost her mother right before COVID-19, encouraged her fans and followers to celebrate everything that they have to be grateful for, instead of mourning; according to the star, simple things in life, such as eating the favorite food and seeing friends are can be the subject of the celebration. In her own words:

“From the simple things like your favorite breakfast that you mastered or that local vegan restaurant that you love so much that nourishes you, or the friends that make you laugh, to the love you may have in your life, or the extra time you had to watch your child grow, the beauty of the light in their eyes and the joy that they bring you.”

The actor, who recently appeared as ‘Julie Richman‘ in ‘Valley Girl‘ said that the new year is the perfect time to switch the mind and start to let love lead the way. Also, she mentioned a tradition of herself by writing:

“A tradition of mine is to take a moment to look back on my past year in my new years journal to see/celebrate what I mastered and what still needs more attention and focus on my visions for the next year.”

Stating she is grateful for everything she had, especially her son, the 44-year-old concluded her message as follows:

“I hope you have found many moments of peace and joy during the holiday season. Cheers to you, your family, and your new year. 😘”
