Confirmed: Josh Brolin Won’t Be In New Deadpool Movie And Doesn’t Know Why: ‘Because Ryan Doesn’t Like Me?’

Brolin shared an official word about his fate as Cable in ‘Deadpool And Wolverine.’

Talking about his roles as the big bad Thanos and the time-jumping Cable in Marvel’s universe, Josh Brolin has got people scratching their heads. When Collider caught up with him and asked if he was going to be in ‘Deadpool And Wolverine,’ the actor revealed:

“No. I don’t know. Because Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t like me? I don’t know… I don’t know.”

Then, he looked at the camera for a moment and said, ‘Maybe,’ leaving the door open a crack for his possible return.

The Film’s Bringing Back Other Characters

Even without Brolin’s Cable, ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ isn’t short on familiar faces. The latest sneak peek shows Peter (Rob Delaney) and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) hanging out at Wade Wilson’s birthday party.

Remember in ‘Deadpool 2,’ that wild parachute scene where it looked like we said goodbye to some of the gang? Well, Deadpool saved Peter with Cable’s time-travel tool. And now Shatterstar’s back, too, which hints that he might have saved more of the team, causing trouble with the TVA.

X-Men Will Reunite

There’s also exciting news for X-Men fans. With Disney taking over 21st Century Fox, characters from the original X-Men movies are joining the MCU. According to a recent post from the actor, Aaron Stanford is coming back as Pyro alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Emma Corrin plays the undisclosed villain of the upcoming film, while Matthew Macfadyen takes on the role of a TVA agent called Paradox.

The film is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
