Confirmed: Keanu Reeves’ John Wick TV Series Is Officially In The Works

Lionsgate is shaking things up by turning two of its biggest hits, ‘John Wick’ and ‘Twilight,’ into TV series.

At a recent Morgan Stanley media conference, Lionsgate’s Vice Chairman Michael Burns let everyone in on the plan. He mentioned that they’re working on bringing both a Twilight animated series and a John Wick TV show to the screen, commenting on the projects:

“We’re going to go out with the ‘Twilight’ series, an animated series, I think there’ll be a lot of interest in that. I think we’ll take one of our great action franchises starring Keanu Reeves, I think it’ll be a television series.”

News Confirmed The Rumors

Remember when we heard rumors about a ‘Twilight’ series last April? Well, it turns out those rumors were true. The project has been in the works for a while, and it was always meant to be animated.

As for ‘John Wick,’ this announcement follows the prequel series ‘The Continental,’ which was made up of three one-and-a-half-hour movies. Talking about the event, which came out in October 2023, Burns said:

“We ended up making a very relatively short-term deal on that show with Peacock and Amazon.”

Original Projects Were A Success

The ‘John Wick’ movies, led by Keanu Reeves, have been a huge hit, raking in over $1 billion worldwide.

Ending on another high note, the ‘Twilight’ movies, based on Stephanie Meyer’s books, have been incredibly successful. With the last movie, ‘Breaking Dawn: Part 2,’ the series has earned over $3.4 billion globally. It also made stars out of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
