David Duchovny feels he played a part in Angelina Jolie’s rise to fame.
Duchovny and Jolie starred together in ‘Playing God’ in 1997. The actor recently joined Sirius XM’s Radio Andy and revealed that he was involved in the casting process for the film and felt that Jolie was a star the moment he saw her. He said:
“I feel like I discovered Angelina Jolie. Yeah, cause I was casting, I was part of the casting. I didn’t discover her, but… she came in, and I just knew she was a movie star, and I told everybody [that] we’ve gotta cast her.”
‘Playing God’ also featured Timothy Hutton and was directed by Andy Wilson. The official casting credits went to Elaine J. Huzzar and Johanna Ray. The movie is about a disgraced surgeon who reinvents himself as a doctor for criminals.
