Ryan Reynolds recently posted a deleted scene from ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ on Instagram. The video showed Channing Tatum’s Gambit alive after a battle alongside Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Dafne Keen as Laura/X-23.
The mutant walked past Cassandra Nova’s defeated henchmen in the scene before turning around and smiling at the camera. The moment hinted at his possible return in either a standalone project or another MCU film though there are no official plans yet.
21st Century Fox hired Channing Tatum for a solo Gambit movie years ago but canceled it after Disney bought the studio. So, the actor sent thanks to Ryan Reynolds for helping him bring the character back in live-action.
Reynolds praised Tatum’s performance on social media in return and shared interest in seeing more of Gambit. “He’s one of the coolest, smartest characters in Comics and still largely unexplored,” the actor wrote. “I want more — and from what I saw in theaters, you do too. Having the chance to say goodbye to some of these heroes is as important as having new characters to root for… and rooting for Gambit is easy. Rooting for Chan is even easier. He’s one of the greatest, hardest working, kindest people in this entire industry.”
Tatum is currently on the big screen in Zoe Kravitz’s ‘Blink Twice,’ featuring Naomi Ackie and Alia Shawkat.
