One of the most memorable moments from ‘Deadpool 2’ was the parachute scene, where the X-Force’s debut mission went terribly wrong, leading to the apparent deaths of several members. But the new trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ suggests that the story didn’t end there for everyone.
The mid-credits scene of ‘Deadpool 2’ showed Deadpool using Cable’s time-travel device to save Peter from his ill fate. This scene had initially suggested that Peter was the only member Ryan Reynolds’ character chose to save. The new trailer twisted this plot, showing Shatterstar also alive.
X-Force’s Return And Its Effect On The MCU
During a scene in the trailer, characters are seen celebrating Wade Wilson’s birthday, with both Peter and Shatterstar present, confirming their survival after the second film.
The revelation from the trailer changes the storyline established in the mid-credits scene of ‘Deadpool 2.’ It hints at a broader plot involving the return of other comic characters and possibly explains why the Time Variance Authority is chasing Deadpool.
A Glimpse Into Known Characters’ Comeback
Shatterstar actor Lewis Tan mentioned more to come in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ than what was shown in the trailer when he recently shared a backstage photo with his costume on. Tan wrote on Instagram:
“The most watched trailer of all time, and you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
Around the same time, Aaron Stanford also gave a closer look at his return as Pyro in the upcoming film.
Other Cast Members And Release Date
In addition to these characters, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ marks the return of Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Sonias Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, with Emma Corrin playing an unknown villain.
The film, directed by Shawn Levy, is ready for release on July 26, 2024.
