Hollywood legend Denzel Washington is one year older now.
Seventeen-time NAACP Image Award-winning actor turned 66 on December 28, and his industry friends did not skip celebrating the day.
Well-known musician and actor Lenny Kravitz was quick to honor Washington with an Instagram post. He posted a black and white photo of two, which sees them hugging, and captioned it with the following tribute:
“Happy Birthday, Denzel. You are a great blessing in my life. I thank God for your love, friendship, wisdom, and laughter that continually nourishes me. You are a king among kings and I love you. The best is yet to come my brother.”
Following Kravitz’s post, a great number of notable names, including Reese Witherspoon, Jason Momoa, Gary Dourdan, and Lionel Richie jumped into the comments section to congratulate him.
Another actor, Jamie Foxx, who is currently receiving high praises for his work in Disney’s ‘SOUL,’ also updated his Instagram feed with a series of photos of Washington, that captures him portraying his legendary characters in the movies, and added a note that reads:
“Happy birthday to the GOAT! Denzel the great!”
Foxx’s followers, including famous actors, sent their congratulatory messages to Washington via the comments section. Almost all the comments focused on that the actor is a living legend. As known, the “living legend” has received three Golden Globe Awards, two Academy Awards, one Tony Award apart from seventeen NAACP Image Awards, throughout his acting career.
What’s more, in 2020, he has been ranked one of the greatest actors of the 21st century by The New York Times.
As for Viola Davis, who is the latest role mate of the beloved star Chadwick Boseman, shared a photo of herself with Washington and praised him on his 66th birthday with the following words:
“Happy birthday to the man with the biggest heart, vision, and courage…DENZEL!!! Love you 💛”
