Current YouTuber and former American football wide receiver Devale Ellis released a highly emotional post devoted to his beloved wifey Khadeen Ellis, on April 13.
Ellis, who garnered numerous fans with family vlogs and skits through his YouTube channel ‘The Ellises,’ released a photo collage consisting of shots of his wifey and children, and remembered a devastating time in the past. Underneath the photo collage, Ellis wrote that 10 years ago he almost lost his “best friend,” and continued as follows:
“Kay Kay was induced because of elevated liver enzymes and after a terrible experience with the epidural she experienced terrible pain in her legs followed by numbness. But through it all my warrior of a wife smiled at me as we joked our way into the morning.”
In his message, Devale pointed out the time when he and his wifey were about to welcome their son Jackson Karter Ellis. The former sportsman stated that Jackson was born with a clubbed foot and he was rushed to orthopedics. While their little son was getting the treatment, Ellis realized that his wife, Khadeen was gushing blood.
“I called her mom to come look and Mimi ran to get the nurse. Before I knew it the entire staff was rushing Kay Kay to the operating table. The last thing I remember is asking what’s happening? and thinking, Is this the last time I’ll every speak to my wife, my love, my best friend… I can’t remember anything else after that.”
Stating that there is no feeling in the world like the feeling of helplessness, Ellis continued:
“Kay fought through a lacerated cervix requiring 27 stitches and lost just enough blood to avoid a transfusion. Watching her hold Jackson after 5 hours of surgery was enough for me to contemplate never wanting any more children. But can you believe that after all that, this divine trooper of a woman gave us 2 more beautiful boys— both with no epidural and one at home.”
He concluded his words by encouraging every man “fathering a black child with a black woman to educate yourself.”
