One of the most-watched crime mystery series of American televisions, ‘Dexter‘ is about to leave streaming giant Netflix.
The streaming giant announced that several titles were set to leave the platform this month. According to the announcement, the series, which originally aired on Showtime from October 1, 2006, to September 22, 2013, for eight seasons, will be removed in December from Netflix in the United Kingdom while in January from Netflix in Canada.
The Showtime series, which follows ‘Dexter Morgan,’ a forensic technician working for Miami Metro Police Department, who is also a vigilante serial killer, will be housed by CBS All Access library, which is soon to be called Paramount+. It is predicted that CBS Television Productions & Showtime will stream the show on their new streaming channel.
According to viewing rates provided by Netflix, the series, which was highly popular during its run on TV, could not find a good number of viewers on the platform. So, a renewal for the series could be the subject.
As known, it was announced that ‘The Office,’ ‘Nurse Jackie,’ ‘Cabin Fever, ‘Hell on Wheels,’ ‘The West Wing‘ and so on are also set to depart the platform in the next two months. Netflix also announced that dozens of new shows would hit the streaming platform at the beginning of 2021.
