Disney+ Drops Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk For Deadpool On MCU Banner

Could it be due to the actress’ war against Disney?

Marvel recently replaced Tatiana Maslany’s ‘She-Hulk’ with Deadpool on its official hub banner. Following this, rumors claimed that the change might be related to her conflict with Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Last year, Iger criticized the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ decision to strike, calling it ‘very disturbing’ and urging unions to ‘be realistic’ about their demands.

Maslany, along with other high-profile actors, responded by criticizing Iger, “I think he’s completely out of touch. He’s completely out of touch with the workers who make his shows happen, who make people watch these shows, who bring viewers to him and him money.”

“Having worked on a Disney show, I know where people fall through the cracks and where people are taken advantage of and it’s outrageous the amount of wealth that is not shared with the people who actually make the show. That’s crew, cast, writers,” she further told The Hollywood Reporter.

It is unclear if the banner change is related to this argument, as a year has passed since then. But talks about possible tensions between Maslany and Marvel spread around after ‘She-Hulk’ Season 1 wrapped in October 2023.

The studio has not announced plans for a second season, and She-Hulk has not appeared in any other Marvel projects since the show’s season finale. Some attributed this to poor profits and criticisms of the show, but Maslany said it was because of budget issues.

Online rumors also said that the actress got fired from ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ for pushing a ‘woke agenda.’ She denied these claims with a sarcastic statement in October, but discussion about the matter continued.

As of now, there are no official announcements about She-Hulk’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe though she is expected to return in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movies.
