Donald Trump took to Truth Social to express his anger about ‘The Apprentice,’ calling it a ‘politically disgusting hatchet job’ and labeling the people behind it as ‘human scum.’
‘The Apprentice’ received harsh criticism from Trump. He claimed it was meant to damage his political campaign just weeks before the 2024 Presidential Election. Trump called the movie ‘FAKE and CLASSLESS’ and attacked the film’s writer Gabe Sherman, calling him a ‘lowlife.’
Here is his statement:
“A FAKE and CLASSLESS Movie written about me, called, ‘The Apprentice’ (Do they even have the right to use that name without approval?), will hopefully ‘bomb,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It’s a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Abbasi responded to Trump’s comments on X and offered to speak with him. “Thanks for getting back to us. I am available to talk further if you want,” he wrote. “Today is a tight day with a lot of press for ‘The Apprentice,’ but I might be able to give you a call tomorrow.”

‘The Apprentice’ follows Trump’s rise as a real estate businessman in New York City and focuses on his relationship with his mentor Roy Cohn. Sebastian Stan stars as Trump, Jeremy Strong plays Cohn, and Maria Bakalova portrays Trump’s first wife Ivana.
This isn’t the first time Trump’s team voiced their disapproval. Trump’s campaign released a statement before the movie’s premiere at Cannes in May 2024, calling the film ‘garbage’ and ‘pure fiction.’ His campaign spokesperson also threatened a lawsuit, saying the film’s claims were part of an effort by Hollywood to interfere with the election.
‘The Apprentice’ continues to play in theaters, and Abbasi is open to a dialogue with Trump.
