Josh Brolin recently opened up about his career and how he handles criticism.
During an interview on The Great Creators podcast, Brolin shared a blunt story about being asked how it felt to be doing ‘A+ work’ now, compared to what the interviewer called ‘C- work’ earlier in his career. His response was direct: “F—k you, man. Who said I was doing C- work?”
Brolin explained that while some movies might be seen as lower quality, he always gave his best effort. He said, “It may be perceived as a C- movie, but I was bringing an A-game to everything I could, with whatever ability I had. I did nothing different in ‘No Country For Old Men’ than I did in the one day I did in Milwaukee, when I put on the G-string and the pantyhose.”
Brolin first rose to fame in 1985 with ‘The Goonies,’ and he’s had a long career with ups and downs. Some fans may not remember his earlier work before he joined the MCU in 2013, but Brolin stayed focused through the years. He gave Sir Anthony Hopkins as a source of inspiration in the same interview, pointing out how Hopkins’ career took off at age 55 with ‘The Silence of the Lambs.’ Brolin said the entertainment industry is unpredictable, and sometimes bad actors succeed while talented ones don’t get noticed.
The ‘Dune’ actor also revealed that he has two upcoming projects set to release in 2025, including ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.‘ It is expected to stream on Netflix. You can also catch him in Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ series, as the films are currently available on both Max and Netflix.
