Dwayne Johnson Receives Multi-platinum Song Certification For ‘You’re Welcome’

Dwayne Johnson, “The Rock” reached 4x platinum status with the soundtrack to Disney’s ‘Moana,’ titled ‘You’re Welcome.’ The achievement officially obtained on October 29, by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

In order to announce and celebrate that big milestone, Johnson took to Instagram; he first released a news screenshot of an article regarding his certification and then added a sweet video, in which he and his 2-year-old daughter, Tiana appear singing the song together.

The ‘Fast & Furious’ star captioned that photo with a lengthy message; he admitted that he reacted by saying “HOLY SHIT MY SONG WENT QUADRUPLE F*CKING PLATINUM?” when he heard the news. Then he thanked songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is described by him as “the one and only iconic maestro,” for the song.

The actor went on writing by thanking “Baby Tia,” her little daughter, he credited Tiana for the success:

“(…) the real reason this song is 4Xs Platinum and growing – my 2-year-old boss, Baby Tia who LOVES hearing me sing this song to her, but has no idea I’m actually, Maui – which kinda makes this whole thing that much more awesome. 💁🏽‍♂️☺️

As widely known, ‘You’re Welcome,’ written by Rocco Hunt, praised by many critics and peaked at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016; just two months after its release.
