‘Ed, Edd n Eddy’ Creator Lost All Hopes About A Reboot

He believes the original magic can’t be recreated.

‘Ed, Edd n Eddy’ creator Danny Antonucci shared his thoughts on the possibility of a reboot, and it doesn’t look promising.

In a recent interview with Animation Magazine, Antonucci stated that he doesn’t think a new version of the show would succeed. In fact, he believes it would ‘fail miserably’:

“For me, I’ve done what I was going to do. I mean, if the network wants to do it, all the best to them: It will fail miserably. They could have done a lot of things like spinoffs with some of the characters.”

The show first aired on Cartoon Network twenty-five years ago, and since then, there hasn’t been any sequel or new version.

He Doesn’t Believe In An Adult Swim Version Either

Antonucci said that while CN could try a reboot or even spin-offs with some characters, he doesn’t think it would work. He also talked about making a version for Adult Swim with the characters grown up:

“I’ve been told you can do it for Adult Swim, and they’re all grown up, but then you are just repeating an idea. It was what it was and to go back and revisit would not be the same.”

The creator also shared his views on the current state of animation. He loves stop-motion animation because it’s handmade and finds it beautiful. However, he isn’t a fan of computer animation as it looks too similar, ’emo and weird.’ Antonucci thinks the animation industry isn’t allowing unique visions to be aired anymore.
