Elizabeth Olsen Teases Wanda’s Return To MCU In Cryptic Message

The actress couldn’t share much to avoid giving away spoilers, though.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff made her debut in the MCU in 2015’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and remained a team member until Vision’s death in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

After her apparent death in 2022’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ fans theorized about her possible return, and the actress touched on the possibility at a recent convention (per ComicBookMovie).

“Well, honestly, if I were to tell you exactly what I would want, I think I would maybe be spoiling something,” the actress teased when asked about her storyline ideas for Wanda’s future. “Kevin Feige genuinely asks us what we want to do with the character, and then he does it. So, I don’t know if I can share… I just want to come back.”

Scarlet Witch’s last MCU appearance was as the antagonist in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ Driven by the Darkhold’s influence, she risked the safety of the Multiverse to reunite with her children, eventually sacrificing herself to destroy all copies of the book.

A flash of red light appeared among the temple ruins at the end, leaving her fate unknown. Since then, the MCU didn’t clear up the air about the character’s mysterious end.

The ‘WandaVision’ spinoff ‘Agatha: All Along’ implied that Wanda was truly dead but still didn’t fully confirm it. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer explained why the show didn’t bring the Avenger back while there was a chance by telling The Hollywood Reporter, “[Wanda’s resurrection] wasn’t really a for-real conversation, and to speak plainly, it’s a larger conversation of casting, logistics, availability, and budget.”

She added, “Also, to me, on a creative level, it didn’t feel fair to the character of Agatha. This is her story, and the idea of bringing Wanda back felt like it would upend that in a way.”

Fans now believe Wanda could return in the upcoming ‘Vision Quest’ series featuring Paul Bettany as Vision. While there’s no official confirmation, rumors suggest a solo Scarlet Witch movie may also be in the works.
