Elliot Page is now working on a new project, but this time he’s not in front of the camera.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Page’s Pageboy Productions is turning a popular young adult science fiction book called ‘The Darkness Outside Us’ by Eliot Schrefer into a movie.
Page and his partners at Pageboy Productions told THR they are excited to bring this book to life. They believe the story is important because it talks about themes like cooperation and love in a creative way:
“We are proud to stand behind Eliot’s remarkable work. ‘The Darkness Outside Us’ is exactly the type of story we want to champion at PAGEBOY – it’s subversive and deeply human at its core. It’s a complex love story, an inventive thriller, and a space epic with twists at every turn. We cannot wait to take the next steps towards getting it on the big screen.”
Pageboy Productions got the rights to make the book into a movie in 2021. They also mentioned that there’s a second book to continue the story, and it’s coming out in October.
The Author Is Happy To Work With Page
Eliot Schrefer said he’s really happy that Pageboy Productions is making his book into a movie. He was looking for a team that was excited and had fresh ideas, and he feels that Elliot Page and his company are the right choice:

‘The Darkness Outside Us’ tells the story of two young men from enemy countries. They find themselves on a spaceship on a mission to save someone. As they travel through space, they learn that they need to work together to survive. They also start to fall in love.
Page will appear in the fourth and final season of ‘The Umbrella Academy.’ It is expected to come out later this year.
