Lily Collins, the multiple-time Golden Globe Award for Best Actress-nominated star, updated her verified Instagram account with a TBT photo of herself, on World Book Day.
The daughter of well-known musician Phil Collins released a shot that sees her promoting her first book titled ‘Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me‘ and marked World Book Day with an inspiring message about her own writing journey. As fans already know, the Hollywood star, who recently appeared in David Fincher’s highly-expected film ‘Mank,’ launched the book of essay collection back on March 7, 2017.
In order to recall the good & old days as a young author, the ‘Rules Don’t Apply‘ star wrote:
“#FBF to launching my book a few years ago! Today is World Book Day… and this year is all about sharing stories so we can better connect and understand each other.”
Then the actor told of why she desired to release a book and got candid about herself; according to her message, she wanted to be “vulnerable” with her audiences and share the story of her life because she hoped her book would “serve as a reminder that we’re never alone.”
Then the ‘Mirror Mirror’ star, who mentioned her own struggles about body image, self-confidence, relationships, family, dating as a young woman in her book, encouraged her fans and followers to share their own stories through all the channels possible. In her own words:
“And a reminder that no matter how something looks from the outside, everyone needs love and support. We all have a story to tell, don’t ever be afraid to share yours…“
Collins’ first book published by HarperCollins has been ranked at number 4 on Teen & Young Adult Performing Arts Biographies in its first release year and garnered high praises from audiences.
