What We Know About ‘Cruella’

The original film served as a prequel to the classic ‘101 Dalmatians.’ It saw Stone portraying Cruella de Vil in a story set in 1970s London. The movie was not only a critical success but also a commercial hit, amassing over $220 million at the global box office.

The development of the sequel follows a pattern set by the success of the original film. Shortly after the release of ‘Cruella,’ news broke of a developing sequel. By August 2021, Stone was confirmed to reprise her role. Besides, director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara are expected to return for the sequel.

Apart from her role in ‘Cruella,’ Stone has been making waves with her latest project, ‘Poor Things,’ directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Her performance has already earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She is also slated to appear in ‘Kinds of Kindness’ and the TV series ‘The Curse.’
