Netflix data proved that the movies launched in the late 90s and the early 2000s are the best; so much so that, according to the view rate at the beginning of March, the fan-favorite movie ‘Training Day‘ became the most-watched movie on Netflix’s Top 10 list.
Even though he is a little bit late, Ethan Hawke, one of the co-stars of the film, jumped into his verified Instagram account on March 23 to celebrate the news. The Hollywood star released the screenshot of a Forbes’ report announcing the news and added a caption in order to express his amazement.
Underneath the screenshot of the news with the title “The Denzel Washington Classic ‘Training Day’ Is Now The Most-Watched Movie On Netflix,” Hawke wrote:
“I know I’m late to the party, but who would have thought that 20 years on, Training Day would become the #1 most-watched movie on Netflix?”
Then the star, who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the movie, continued his message in a hilarious way:
“I certainly wouldn’t have….but mostly because I didn’t know what Netflix was back then.”
Via the post, it seems that Hawke reminded people that the movie does not only belong to his co-star Denzel Washington, as written in the title of the article. As known, the star portrayed ‘Officer Jake Hoyt‘ in the movie directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by David Ayer.
The Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke classic, which has been on the streaming platform since March 1, is still available to watch.
