‘Euphoria’ is coming back for a third season, and it’s set to start production in January 2025.
As per Entertainment Weekly, all the main actors are coming back for season 3. This includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, and Alexa Demie. However, Barbie Ferreira won’t be returning. She left the show after season 2. Also, Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, sadly passed away in July 2023 and won’t be part of the new season.
Francesca Orsi, an HBO executive, expressed her excitement about starting production and working with the cast and creator Sam Levinson again:
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on ‘Euphoria’ in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of ‘Euphoria’ to life for the fans.”
It’s been almost three years since the last episode of season 2, and we all are excited to see what’s next.
Time Jump Concept Will Be Interesting
HBO announced that the new season will begin with a time jump. It will move the characters out of high school. HBO boss Casey Bloys says this change will help address concerns about the characters’ ages, as some of the actors said they felt too old to keep playing high school students:
“There’s been a lot of back and forth … One of the issues I think that Sam is thinking about is that he doesn’t want to have it in high school anymore. That’s where it was set and what made sense then. So when you take it out of that, there’s a lot of back and forth about where to set it and how far in the future to set it and all that stuff. But I think he’s got a take that he’s excited about, and he’s busy writing.”
There’s no exact date for when the new episodes will air. Since production starts in January, season 3 may arrive before the end of 2025.
