Evangeline Lilly was online so as to share a hearty message devoted to her fans and followers on social media.
The actor, who famed internationally after starring in the groundbreaking tv series ‘Lost,’ took to her verified Instagram account and released a selfie showing her with her very short blond hair. Alongside the photo, the actor, who is gearing up to appear in the forthcoming Marvel film ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘ as ‘Hope van Dyne / Wasp‘ began her message as follows:
“I treasure your attention and involvement in my thoughts, intentions and career, and that you impact me. There are comments that fans have made here that I still think about…years later. I remember after I posted about my own struggles and darkness for one of the first times ever and a fan, deep in the thread said something about how he was just thinking the other day how I was the least vulnerable person and then..”
Stating that the comments from her followers on social media “really stuck” with her because they were an interesting look into herself from the outside, Lilly continued her message by referring to the change she made on her appearance:
“Recently, another fan wrote something about how since I’d changed my hair, I was a completely new person on-line. He was noting a shift in me that went far deeper than a haircut. He also said he loved it. That felt good. Cutting my hair was part of larger growth in me, a decision to stop hiding behind pretty verniers of what I think other people want to see and hear from me, and a choice to be and say what I am.”
The actor who received a Screen Actors Guild Award for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in ‘Lost,’ concluded her words as follows:
“Over and over voices from strangers flow across these pathways and reach something deep inside me, and for that I am grateful. Social media is such a corrosive force in our world, it’s comforting to experience the beautiful connections it can facilitate, too.”
After she shared the post, a great number of users of the platform thanked the actor for sharing her own journey.
