Family Guy Is Getting Its Own Movie, Creator Teases

Seth MacFarlane has been dreaming of a movie for the show for 15 years, and it might finally happen.

It looks like the Griffin family is finally making their big-screen debut!

Seth MacFarlane has been thinking about a ‘Family Guy’ movie for a very long time. In fact, he’s had an idea for the movie for 15 years! Comicbook.com reports that MacFarlane said he has been too busy to start working on the adaptation, but he still wants to do it:

“I have known what that [‘Family Guy’] movie will be for 15 years and I just haven’t had the time to get to it.”

MacFarlane was pretty busy with ‘The Orville’ and ‘American Dad.’ He also recorded a Christmas music album recently.

‘Family Guy’ Has Been Here For Over 25 Years

‘Family Guy’ first came to TV screens in January 1999. The show was briefly stopped in 2002, but it later came back in 2005 and hasn’t left since. This year marks the 25th anniversary of ‘Family Guy.’

The show just finished its 22nd season and is all set for season 23. MacFarlane previously said he doesn’t plan to end ‘Family Guy’ anytime soon. He feels there’s no reason to stop as long as people enjoy watching it:

“It’s still surviving and thriving. It still has a sizable audience and is a perfect example of there being an appetite for something. So we continue to feed the beast. There’s no indication that the show is going to end anytime soon.”

‘Family Guy’ continues to air on Fox. It can also be watched on Hulu and Disney+. There will be two new holiday specials from ‘Family Guy’ coming to Hulu later this year.
