‘Fear The Walking Dead’s Colman Domingo Reveals Meeting His Husband Through Craigslist

It’s a story of finding love in an unexpected place.

In a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show, Colman Domingo of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ shared the story of how he met his husband through a Craigslist missed connections ad.

Domingo, alongside stars Sterling K. Brown, Dakota Johnson, and Domhnall Gleeson, remembered the day he crossed paths with his future husband, Raúl Aktanov Domingo, near Walgreens in Berkeley, California. The actor was on a quest for a face mask when he noticed his future husband:

“I’m walking in and I see someone walking out. Has beautiful hair down to here, lip piercing, beautiful, beautiful. I see this guy and we look at each other, and I’m like ‘Oh my god.’ I’m on the phone and I come outside and we look at each other and he’s talking to this young woman and she seems to be angry about something.”

Despite their instant connection, they parted ways without speaking. In a turn of events that sounds more like the plot of a Hollywood romance than real life, here is what happened next in Domingo’s words:

“I thought, maybe I’ll come back next Sunday and he’ll be here. I’m that kind of hopeless romantic. Cut to three days later, I’m trying to buy a used computer and I was just scanning Craigslist, so I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll post one of those missed connections ads, I wonder if they work.’ I go to page two of them, and as I’m reading I see, ‘Saw you outside of Walgreens…Berkley.’ He placed an ad for me two hours before.”
