Comedian Fortune Feimster is now married.
Feimster, who best known for portraying ‘Colette’ on ‘The Mindy Project‘ tied the knot with her five years of partner Jacquelyn Smith, on Friday in Malibu, California with a small ceremony.
‘What a Joke with Papa and Fortune‘ host Feimster delivered the big news through her verified Instagram account. Posting a wed photo, Feimster added a caption that reads:
“We got married!”
The comedian then stated the coronavirus pandemic had ruined their wedding plans.
“Jax and I decided to forgo the big wedding we planned to have due to the pandemic and decided fairly last minute to do a tiny ceremony on the beach. We’ll celebrate with friends and family in a year when it’s safer to do so.”
Instead of a magnificent wedding ceremony, the couple, who have been together for over five years, rented a house by the ocean and invited guests to join over Zoom.
In another Instagram post, Feimster celebrated 5 years anniversary by writing that Jax was the best partner she could ever hope for even in a freaking pandemic, and added:
“I was waiting till today to say I never thought I’d A) find someone that I wanted to marry and B) legally be allowed to. But five years ago today, the day after marriage equality passed, I went to pride in Chicago and immediately met Jax. She appeared out of nowhere and it felt like I’d known her forever. She’s so awesome and such a rock.”
As soon as the comedian had announced the marriage, many of her industry friends jumped into the comment section to congratulate her. The creator and the co-star of ‘The Mindy Project,’ Mindy Kaling wrote:
“🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Amazing!!! Congrats!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉”
Actor Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, added:
“Fortune!!!!!! Jaaaaaaxxx!!! 😭❤️😭❤️ Congrats family. We love you.”
