‘Pinocchio: Unstrung’ just added Robert Englund and Richard Brake to its cast.
Variety reports that Robert Englund and Richard Brake joined the project. Englund will star in the production, but we don’t know who he is portraying. Brake signed on to play Geppetto, though.
Variety also shared an image of the Pinocchio doll that will be used for the film. The doll was designed by award-winning artist Todd Masters. His past work includes ‘Aliens Stole My Body’ and ‘True Blood.’
‘Pinocchio: Unstrung’ is the final film in the Twisted Childhood Universe, the horror series that began with ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ in 2023. That film reimagined Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger as violent slasher villains. It didn’t score well with critics and even won Razzie Awards, but ‘Blood and Honey’ led to a sequel that came out earlier this year.
The filmmakers behind the Twisted Childhood Universe have big ideas for the future. They are planning a crossover movie named ‘Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble’ like Marvel’s ‘Avengers.’ There is also a plan to release ‘Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Bambi: The Reckoning’ next year.
