It took a whopping 78 days just to film one 15-minute scene for the upcoming movie ‘Furiosa.’ That’s right — over two months of work for just a quarter of an hour of what we see on screen.
‘Furiosa’ has a huge action sequence that took nearly three months to shoot. As per Total Film, almost 200 stunt workers showed up every day just to film this part!
The scene was called ‘Stairway to Nowhere’ during the filming. Director George Miller and his team spent a lot of time making sure this scene was just right.
It’s Important To Understand Furiosa
Furiosa was first introduced in the movie ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’ This movie tells us more about the character.
Anya Taylor-Joy plays the younger version of Furiosa. The story follows Furiosa from when she was kidnapped as a young girl by Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth), and how she fights to get back to her family.
Taylor-Joy said that this scene is pretty important because it shows Furiosa becoming stronger and smarter:
“George and I would have these big conversations about why this particular set-piece was so long. It’s because you see an accumulation of skills over the course of a battle, and that’s very important for understanding how resourceful Furiosa is, but also her grit. It’s the longest sequence any of us have ever shot. On the day we finished, everybody got a ‘Stairway to Nowhere’ wine!”
‘Furiosa’ will be coming to theaters on May 24. The filmmakers showed some clips at CinemaCon, and people already loved it.
