The well-known actress, activist, and author Gabrielle Union took to Instagram to show her support for Kamala Harris, who is the presumptive Democratic vice presidential nominee in the 2020 election, by posting a series of photos of Harris alongside a message.
Regarding the first African-American and the first Asian-American vice-presidential, the ‘Breaking In’ star began by mentioning the first time the two had met:
“I met her during President Obama’s first inauguration party with mutual friends and I found her whip-smart, easy to talk to, and passionate about creating change. She’s already breaking barriers by being the first African American and the first Asian American to be chosen as the running mate of a major party’s presidential candidate… and the third ever female candidate.”
Union, who had supported Barack Obama in his presidential campaign before, introduced Kamala Harris to her followers one more time, in order to give a boost to her:
“Her career to date has already created such an impact on issues like law enforcement accountability, criminal justice reform, and public safety… just to name a few of countless efforts to be a fighter for values and justice.”
The actress, who works as an activist on social and political issues, addressed Harris and said:
“We are behind you and we are ready to watch you take your place in the White House! Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there.”
