Getting To Know Jojo Fleites, 5 Lesser-Known Facts About The Winchesters Actor

As the first ever queer representation in the ‘Supernatural’ franchise, Jojo Fleites started to gain popularity among fans but kept most parts about their life a secret from the public. Still, there is more to learn about the actor apart from their role in ‘The Winchesters.’

Jojo Fleites started getting fame in the acting industry after appearing in the main cast of ‘The Winchesters’ series, produced by the ‘Supernatural’ actor Jensen Ackles and his wife, Danneel. With a growing Instagram following of over 70,000, Fleites is not just an actor but also a singer and dancer. But, despite their rising fame, there is very little known about this actor. So, take a look at five facts about him with us!

Their Background

Jojo Fleites, originally named Jonathan, was born on June 31, 1996, in New York City, with Latino and European roots. They studied at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, focusing on ballet, jazz, tap, and ballroom dance under Patrice Bailey, and joined the Moonamie Conservatory for professional acting education.

Their Role In ‘The Winchesters’

In 2022, Fleites made their TV debut as Carlos Cervantez, a non-binary demon hunter, in the ‘Supernatural’ spinoff series ‘The Winchesters.’ The show, which explored the early adventures of John Winchester and Mary Campbell, featured the actor in a lead role. Their part as Cervantez received positive reviews, but the show was not renewed after the first season.

The Projects They Took Part In

Aside from ‘The Winchesters,’ Fleites hasn’t appeared in other TV shows, focusing instead on theater. They have been in stage productions like ‘Hair,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘Matilda,’ ‘Les Miserables,’ and ‘High School Musical.’ In 2015, they won a National Young Arts award in Musical Theatre.

Their Explanations On Gender

While keeping their personal life private, Fleites has been open about their gender identity on social media. They have identified as non-binary on their Instagram and addressed their sexual identity in a 2021 music video created for their cover of Queen’s ‘Somebody To Love.’
