Giacomo Gianniotti Gets A Tattoo To Remember His Last Day On ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Series: “Marked The End Of One Of The Most Beautiful Chapters Of My Life”

The Italian-based actor Giacomo Gianniotti, who made his TV series debut in the fan-favorite TV series ‘Medicina Generale‘ back in 2010, took to his verified Instagram account in order to show that his role as ‘Dr. Andrew DeLuca’ in the groundbreaking drama series ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ made a huge impression on his personal life.

On May 12, the actor, who said goodbye to his role a couple of weeks ago, released a photo of his brand new tattoo on his wrist: “22:50” Along with the black and white photo, the young actor, who also directed two episodes of the series, wrote that this tattoo is a symbol of the period referring one of the most beautiful chapters of his entire life. In his own words:

“The time that marked the end of one of the most beautiful chapters of my life. A symbol that all beautiful things must eventually come to an end. But also a reminder that there is always still miles of beauty just around the corner.”

As the fans of the series already know, “22:50” is citing the time of death of Gianniotti’s character in the series; in the season 17 episode “Helplessly Hoping,” ‘Dr. Andrew DeLuca,’ who has been struggling with mental illness, passes away.

As soon as the actor had released the mentioned photo, a great number of fans of the series jumped into the comments section to say that ‘DeLuca’ will always be in their hearts. What’s more, a user drew attention to the importance of his role from the point of those suffering from mental illnesses:

“This is so beautiful, I appreciate the change you made in greys and bringing awareness to bipolar disorder. Love you.”
